For the past 11 years, Earth Resource Group (ERG) has established itself as an industry leader in the field of asbestos and Lead Based Paint management, testing and consulting for commercial and residential buildings, and industrial sites. Our Certified staff has successfully completed over 2,000 building surveys and designed and managed numerous abatement projects. Our goal is to provide our clients with practical and timely solutions while maintaining compliance with existing regulations.
Asbestos Survey – Building Surveys and Testing
ERG helps building owners, homeowners and managers meet their regulatory requirements to test suspect materials for asbestos prior to renovation or construction activities. To ensure quality, our certified professionals perform all field work in accordance with OSHA, EPA guidelines and AHERA protocols when required. Following the asbestos survey, ERG provides a comprehensive report of findings that includes the locations, sample results and assessment of all asbestos containing materials and asbestos contaminated materials.
Abatement Project Management
ERG coordinates and manages all aspects of asbestos abatement projects. Before abatement work begins, ERG personnel ensure that the containment and decontamination facilities are properly constructed. During the project, the ERG project manager performs daily air monitoring inside and outside the containment and observes the contractor’s activities to ensure the work is properly performed. Once abatement is completed and before the containment is removed, the ERG project manager performs a visual inspection and aggressive clearance air monitoring of the work area to ensure the area is safe for re-occupancy.
Asbestos Management Plan Development
For all buildings with asbestos, the EPA recommends the development of an asbestos management program to communicate the locations of asbestos to appropriate parties and train building employees on how to work safely around the materials. Our asbestos management program manual includes:
• A copy of asbestos survey report
• Asbestos notification for the building that meets regulatory requirements
• Emergency response procedures and contacts
• Building specific asbestos warning signs for posting in maintenance areas
• Written procedures for working safely on or around asbestos
Asbestos Training
ERG provides OSHA compliant 2 Hour Asbestos Awareness Training. This two hour course, together with additional, site specific information, was designed to meet the annual OSHA (1926.1101) and AHERA regulatory requirements in one easy to understand course. Asbestos awareness training is required upon initial assignment and annually for employees whose work activities may contact asbestos containing materials (ACM) or presumed asbestos-containing materials (PACM), but do not disturb ACM or PACM during their work activities (Class IV operations).
Note: Workers who perform activities that will result in the disturbance of ACM must receive additional training.
Lead-Based Paint Services
Throughout Nevada, Earth Resource Group (ERG) is an established industry leader in the field of lead-based paint testing and consulting. Our staff of certified lead-based paint professionals has successfully completed hundreds of lead surveys and several abatement projects. Lead based paint services include:
- Building surveys and specs
- Development of plans and specs
- Abatement project management
- Management plan development
Building Surveys and Testing
ERG helps building owners, homeowners and managers determine if lead-based paint is present in their buildings prior to renovation or construction activities that disturb suspect lead-based paint. ERG conducts LeadCheckTM sampling to satisfy EPA’s Lead RRP Rule, (Renovate, Repair and Paint). ERG also conducts bulk sampling surveys and has access to X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrum Analyzer testing. Following the testing, ERG will provide a comprehensive report of finding(s) that includes test results, color, substrate, and location of each paint tested.
Development of Plans and Specifications
When a construction project disturbs lead-based paint, ACC helps building owners and managers determine the proper procedures to be implemented in order to protect people at the site and to ensure that the work area is properly cleaned following lead paint disturbance or removal activities. Plans and specifications prepared by ACC will provide lead-based paint abatement contractors with a well-defined scope of work and procedures to ensure the project is properly performed in accordance with applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.
Abatement Project Management
ERG manages all aspects of lead-based paint abatement projects on our client’s behalf. The ERG project manager monitors the contractor’s activities to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Once abatement is completed, the ERG project manager performs a visual inspection and, if the area is going to be re-occupied with children, clearance wipe sampling.
Management Plan Development
Lead-based paint management plans developed by ERG help building owners reduce the risk posed by lead-based paint in their buildings. Our lead-based paint management programs include a copy of the lead survey report and written procedures for working safely on or around lead-based paint.
